Ladies' Luncheon Bellarine Peninsula

After successful events on the Mornington Peninsula, Middy’s expanded its Ladies Luncheon to the Greater Geelong & Bellarine Peninsula Region. Here’s how the day unfolded…

On Friday 31st of March private shuttle buses transported all guests (wives, partners and employees) representing Middy’s Colac, Geelong, Geelong North, Grovedale, Ocean Grove and Torquay branches to the Mt Duneed Estate (Vineyard Room) for a day filled with entertainment, Breast Cancer awareness and fundraising.

The first annual Middy’s Ladies Luncheon to be held on the Bellarine Peninsula was an unforgettable afternoon with the crowd in attendance reaching over 70 people.

The musician put on a great show, entertaining the ladies with some old-school classics to dance the afternoon away. The ever popular Photo Booth filled with props and gags, had the ladies mingling with each other as they took happy snaps. Our photographer, Shelly McQuinn from Shelly McQuinn Photography, did an excellent job capturing all the key moments of the event.

The MC of the day, Kerry Whitten (Sales Rep – Grovedale) introduced two special guest speakers; Judith Wilson who presented a heartfelt speech of her battles and challenges as a breast cancer survivor and Nicholas Middendorp (Director) who spoke of how Middy’s was first formed and the strong growth of the business in the modern era.

A wonderful silent auction was held with key suppliers; Gerard Lighting, Omega, Nexans Olex and Clipsal by Schneider Electric donating gifts for the cause. An array of external companies also got involved and contributed with prizes auctioned and raffled including 10 x Etihad Stadium Box Seats, Photography Vouchers, Accommodation Packages, Ugg Boots, Hampers and Restaurant Packages.

All proceeds from the prizes were donated directly to the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA). For the duration of the Ladies Luncheon, guests continued to compliment the fine food and service of Mt Duneed Estate (Vineyard Room) courtesy of Peter Rowland Catering. The three-course lunch served with wine, beer and soft drink was enjoyed by all. The Lolly Buffet impressed with a huge selection of everyone’s favourite lollies and delicious treats.

Guests had the option of filling up a full box of lollies with all proceeds going to the BCNA. The Ladies Luncheon raised an incredible total of $8,000 for Breast Cancer Research. $4,000 was raised on the day matched by another $4,000 generously donated by Middy’s.

Middy’s would like to thank all our guests and suppliers (Gerard Lighting, Omega, Nexans Olex and Clipsal by Schneider Electric) and everyone in attendance who donated and supported the most common cancer affecting Australia Woman today.
