Apollo Bay Distillery Solar InstallThe Apollo Bay Distillery is the perfect place to escape the noise and chaos of everyday life. It’s known to preserve the tales of the town and embody the spirit of Apollo Bay. Their gins are linked to the ships that sailed off the coast many years ago and serve as a strong reminder of Apollo Bay’s nautical history.
Part owner, Tony Xerri, wanted to add solar to the Apollo Bay Distillery to reduce their carbon footprint and offset their energy costs. “Brewing and distilling requires a lot of electricity and draws most of the power during the day. We’re conscious of CO2 emissions and the affect it has on the environment, so we want to play our part and lessen our impact wherever possible.”
Tony engaged Middy’s as Middy’s had previously provided a solar solution for Tony at Great Ocean Road Brewhouse, Queenscliff Brewhouse and Prickly Moses Brewery.
Using Middy’s unique software tool, Energy Trust, a custom proposal was created, factoring in the size of the space and current energy usage. Based on this proposal a 36kW Solar Power System was installed. This system is set to reduce their CO2 emissions by 44 tonnes per year and save approximately $9,000 annually in electricity costs.
The install: 36KW roof mount solar system
The Install:
- 36kW Roof Mount Solar Power System
- Reduction in energy consumption
- 44 tons annual carbon reduction
"Our experience with Middy’s was again terrific. The custom proposal they created and their service throughout was exceptional". - Tony Xerri - Part Owner, Apollo Bay Distillery
