Case Studies
Regional communities are embracing electric vehicles despite infrastructure shortages and as a result, electric vehicle charging suppliers have noticed the demand for charging locations from regional residents and business owners. Husband and wife team Sam Plunket and Bron Dunwoodie from Wine X Sam, in affiliation with Chargefox, Australia’s largest EV charging network, contacted the EV specialists at NHP regarding the installation of the first DC electric vehicle charger in Seymour. For Sam and Bron, their business case was to install a DC charger close to the Hume Freeway and highlight the potential of regional businesses to support local tourism.Sam who has a strong passion for green energy and carbon neutrality, has seen an increase in like-minded visitors, specifically electric vehicle owners who are turning off the Hume Freeway to use his charging facilities. In turn, Wine X Sam has been featured in blogs and news articles, as well as on ABC radio. With the high demand and extra promotion, Sam is even considering asking Bryce Davies, their electrician to install a secondary charging station.
