Paul from Wyers Engineering contacted NHP Perth and the Middy’s Welshpool for assistance with some mechanical scaffolding.

Paul from Wyers Engineering was after some assistance to re-engineer old German drawings from the 1980s and develop plans for mast climbers, or in other words mechanical scaffolding for a client. He contacted NHP Perth and the Middy’s Welshpool teams who were able to help him get the job done.

Mast climbers can be used to lift up and down the sides of buildings, when glaziers or electricians need to work safely. Mast Climbers allow for an individual to remotely operate a simple control panel that drives a motor on either side of a platform to lower and raise it.

NHP and Middy’s Welshpool were able to supply Paul with an nVent MAS enclosure, breakers, contactors, a load centre, a transformer, push buttons and transfer switches. The control unit was built by NHP and installed by Wyers Electrical.

The engineered control panels were fitted with load centres, so the controls could be operated safely without opening doors, unlike if you were to use a distribution board. This means non-skilled workers can safely operate the mast climbers as users would only need basic training. This greatly reduces the risk of serious injuries or maintenance concerns.
