Not even COVID-19 could stop these ladies from supporting a good cause...
With traditional Middy's Ladies' Days cancelled due to COVID-19 this year, Middy's hosted a virtual Ladies' Day on Friday October 30th, and it was a resounding success.
We’re pleased to announce we are entering our new "COVID Normal Trading".
All Middy’s branches nationally are now open as per advertised trading hours. We are back to servicing both trade and retail customers in branch as well as offering contactless delivery and purchasing available via phone, email and through myBRANCH.
Incorporating project supply to day to day MRO requirements, Middy’s Industrial provides the products, solutions, and account management to service the industry Australia wide.
The Middy’s Industrial offer continues to expand across our national branch network at a fast pace. Simultaneously, the Industrial team is also growing and we’re very pleased to have
added two new dedicated Industrial Business Development Managers to our sales network. Both Hank Terpstra and Dean Sullivan are based in Victoria but will be supporting national
enquiries alongside Troy Crawford (Industrial Sales Representative
for North Victoria, Riverina NSW & ACT) and National Industrial
Manager, Trevor Quaini.
By now we all know about the Federal Government’s HomeBuilder scheme but what does it mean to you, the electrical contractor?
The HomeBuilder grant is one of the key pillars of Australia’s response to COVID-19's economic recovery plan. In what has proved to be challenging times for many Australians, we’re now able to look forward to the resurgence of the construction industry with the Government’s 1.3 billion dollar investment for the building of new homes and significant renovations to existing properties.
Bryce Fullwood has scored his maiden Supercars podium finish, with third place in Race 25 at The Bend on Saturday. The rookie drove a superb race, one that will be reflected on for years to come.
After qualifying 13th, Bryce made it to the shootout and was 5th quickest. He didn’t have a set of greens to use, so his lap was impressive against 14 others with new tyres.
Middy’s new purpose-built branch will serve the electrical industry for many years to come.
The original Middendorp Electric Oakleigh branch, one of
the first five Middy’s branches, was opened in 1961 to service
Oakleigh and the growing south eastern suburbs. The early days
saw trade sales at the front of the building with some Middendorp
manufacturing continuing in the rear with some rubber moulding
machines producing the Middy branded plug tops for a period
until injection moulding took over and the family then focused
more strongly on wholesaling.
Middy’s Darwin branch is home to the first direct current (DC) electric vehicle (EV) charging station in the Northern Territory.
Middy’s Darwin is proud to offer customers a DC electric vehicle
charger with up to 25kW output. This system allows you to charge
electric cars 12 times faster than with a standard domestic socket
and it is an ideal, affordable charging solution for commercial,
fleet and private use vehicles.
Bryce Fullwood & the Mobil 1 Middy's Racing team are live and back on track with Bryce off to a great start.
On 28 June at the BP Ultimate Sydney SuperSprint, Bryce surprised
even himself by clinching his first top 10 solo result in his Supercars
Championship career. This was after Bryce had a disappointing
Adelaide debut way back in February, when he collected the Turn 11
wall in both races. Bryce had this to say, “If someone had said to me
‘you’re going to come 10th’ going into this weekend I would have
told them you’re kidding."
Middy’s TechEnergy and Smart Tech Electrical combined to give the 165 year old Strathmore Hotel a significant technology upgrade. Staff are now able to control the many staging areas of the venue
at their fingertips with a fully integrated C-Bus automation system.
With Metropolitan Melbourne having entered Stage 4 restrictions and regional Victoria having entered Stage 3 restrictions, our focus remains to help protect your health and safety as well as that of our staff. Rest assured that Middy's will continue to follow all government guidelines.
Due to current restrictions you will be required to wear a face covering in all Middy’s branches within Melbourne and the Mitchell shire.
We continue to follow all physical distancing protocol and encourage you to in your workplace. NECA offer some very helpful information for your review including:
CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) GUIDELINES FOR THE BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY VICTORIA (REVISION 5.1) 22 July 2020.
Middy’s Oakleigh first opened in 1961 and has been servicing Oakleigh and the surrounding areas for 59 years.
Middy’s acquired land next door at 1/1609-1615 Dandenong Rd (Cnr Ferntree Gully Rd & Lever St) to design and build a purpose-built wholesale branch. The new branch will support Middy’s efforts to serve the local industry for many years to come.
In light of the Victorian Premier’s announcement of a return to Stay at Home restrictions for Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire suburbs from 11:59 pm on Wednesday 8 July 2020. To help protect your health and safety as well as that of our staff, Middy's will continue to follow physical distancing guidelines and promote positive hygiene practices at our branches.
